BEYOND THE PLATE

"Food is my favorite friend " donno how many times I have said this. It's kind of motto for me.
But exploring food is one of my favorite hobbies. Rather than depending the same one place for my hunger alarm , I like to visit the every new place serving food.

Streetfoods are unhealthy
until you start to live alone or move to another city. There's no other choice for you

.One has to say "bhayya. Ek plate pav bhaji Dena", at least once in his/her life.

Why I think it's a big deal ?? Because.. I wasn't like this.

I was a dayschollar till my graduation. I rarely skipped breakfast cuz my mum cooks deliciously delicious.

I wasn't allowed to eat junk foods a lot.. there was a limit for it.  I occasionally ate at restaurant ,as there used to cook a variety of dishes at home during every special events.

I wasn't even allowed to eat roadside golgappa as they were considerd to be unhygienic (and they are).

Even my school provided nutritious ,tasty food.  I had my lunchbox even during my collage life. And it was also there for me during graduation. I wasn't ashamed ..

because my college mates used to treat the lunchbox wala or lunchbox wali as a special person from heaven. That's the power of home food.

We believed in "Ghar ka khana ..Ghar ka khana hota he".  And streetfoods or chats were just a part of anyone's special day as a treat.

And being a coastalite seafood and nonveg is my favourite.

Having this much massive love and affection towards home food.. it was not easy to adjust to the mess food as I moved to the new city for my post graduation.

A city which is quite opposite  to the place where I lived for 20 years..

It was a toughest task to adjust to the food style of the place where i am supposed to live.

The place where fish wasn't available at all. A place where they don't know about rasam. a place where rice is a special guest ..

So , that was the beginning of my mission food exploring!!

And I call my experience as BEYOND THE PLATES ..

Every Friday catch me up with the vivid experiences of my food exploration!
